Just breathe. Anxiety is a nasty monster that affects every day of my life. Trying to find a sense of calm is my only real defense. I can feel my muscles tensing. My breathing is fast and shallow. My head is spinning.
Sit on the couch, close my eyes and force myself to breathe. Just find calm. Force my mind to be blank. Then slowly add images of meadows, waterfalls, my childhood stuffed animal. Block out as much of the real world as I can and find calm.
