via Daily Prompt: Renewal

A new year is almost upon us and it is time for renewal. I cannot remember the last time I made a New Years Resolution. I have never seen the point. If I want to change something in my life, then I will just go ahead and do it. I do not need to wait for a new year.

I need to remember to renew my library books on time. I need to remember to renew my magazine subscriptions on time. Renewal is a time of re-birth. Renewal of the seasons, of the land, of the school curriculum. With the spring will be a renewal of longer days and more sun.

This year will be something new for me. We have bought our first place and will no longer be renting. This kind of renewal is huge for us. Emotionally and financially. As a family, we need this. We need out of our rut. We need more space for our children and for us adults. Our apartment is cramped and not ideal for five people. This move is the best kind of renewal I can think of. A time to deep clean. A time to get rid of all the random junk that sits in closets, never serving a purpose.
